COVID-19 and Puppy Transportation
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are able to safely transport puppies to their new homes. Puppies are not carriers of the virus, so they pose no risk of transmission. For your safety and the puppy’s, we arrange for the puppy to fly in the cabin area with passengers rather than in the cargo hold. This ensures the puppy is closely monitored and in a climate-controlled environment throughout the journey.
Upon arrival at the airport, a member of our team will be there to immediately transport the puppy directly to your home. We do not allow puppy pickups at the airport to minimize potential COVID-19 exposure. Instead, we will provide you with the tracking number and all necessary shipping details ahead of time so you can be prepared for the puppy’s safe arrival.
Delivery
We offer next-day delivery for your new puppy. Once payment is confirmed, we can have the puppy at your doorstep the very next day. You’ll receive the tracking number and other shipping information in advance, so you can easily monitor the puppy’s journey.
Shipping Process
Shipping your puppy has never been easier or more secure. We use climate-controlled, airline-approved carriers to transport the puppy in the cabin area, not with cargo. Prior to shipping, we familiarize the puppy with the travel crate to ensure a stress-free experience.
The crate is clearly labeled with the destination, your contact information, and “Live Animals” stickers. We also provide ample food and water in case of any delays. We closely monitor weather conditions to ensure it is safe to travel.
If you prefer, we can also arrange for a “Nanny Shipping” option, where one of our trusted attendants will accompany the puppy on the flight and hand-deliver them to you. This is the most seamless and stress-free way for your new furry friend to join your family.
Health and Safety
All puppies travel with the required health certificate, verifying they are healthy and pose no risk of disease transmission. We want you and your new companion to get off to the best possible start, so please schedule a veterinary checkup within 48 hours of the puppy’s arrival.
We pride ourselves on the smooth, safe, and COVID-conscious transportation of our puppies. Your puppy’s wellbeing is our top priority, and we will do everything in our power to ensure a positive, stress-free experience for both you and your new furry family member.
Pickup
When prospective buyers reach out to express interest in one of my dachshund puppies, I start by having an initial conversation with them. I want to get to know them, understand their experience with dogs, living situation, and expectations. I typically have an application process to gather more details and verify they are a suitable match.
Once a buyer is approved, I’ll schedule a specific date and time for them to come to my home to pick up the puppy. I provide very clear instructions on the pickup process, including what they need to bring like a secure crate or carrier.
On the pickup day, I have a designated, private area of my home set up specifically for this purpose. It’s away from my other pets and any distractions, to allow for a controlled introduction between the buyer and puppy.
When the buyer arrives, I greet them and have them meet the puppy in this special pickup area. I observe their interactions and provide any guidance or instructions as needed. The buyer will also need to sign a sales contract with me before taking the puppy.
Once everything is ready, I ensure the puppy is safely transported in the buyer’s secure crate or carrier before they depart. I follow up in the days and weeks after to check on how the puppy is adjusting to their new home.
The key thing to note is that the entire pickup process takes place right here in my home, to allow me to have that personal interaction and get to know the buyers.
